1. When everything seems to be going against you — visit a thriving, slightly upscale hair salon. Have your hair and face tidied up properly. Pay special attention to the tail ends of your eyebrows; any stray hairs there should be removed without hesitation.

2. When minor misfortunes keep cropping up — take a walk through a temple with strong, active incense offerings. If, while passing by a statue of a dharma protector, you feel as though something has been pulled away from your body, you may return home with a settled mind.

3. When your energy is low — resist the urge to shut yourself indoors. Seek more sunlight. Stroll through parks. Wander through children’s playgrounds. Feed some fish, feed some birds. All of this can genuinely revive the spirit and lift your heart.

4. When petty people keep appearing around you — take time to properly sort through your clothing and household clutter. Any undergarments with holes or worn-through patches must be discarded. Do not feel sentimental about them. These items draw in unclean energy (sha chi).

5. When your deepest wishes feel out of reach — begin by guarding your words. Never speak ill of others, never use crude language, never give voice to anger. If you must speak, say only what is necessary. Channel your efforts inward — cultivate the heart, nurture your Chi (vital energy), and let nothing needlessly scatter outward.

Master Chi wishes you smooth sailing in all things. I offer you a word of blessing — in return, raise a cup of tea in kind.

Many things, when spoken and held in the mind with conviction, truly do manifest into reality. So why not leave yourself this affirmation:

I am certain that once one thing flows, all things will flow — and no ill force shall touch me.
