Stop Grinding Blindly — The Art of Following Momentum

When I was just starting out, I had none of the experience I carry today. I hadn’t sought out masters at the heights of their fields, hadn’t yet served the elite households of true wealth and influence. And so, like many, I mistakenly believed that breaking through in life came down to one word: hustle.

But after reading an enormous volume of destiny charts (命盘) at the highest levels, I came to a sobering realization: grinding blindly, fighting stupidly, charging ahead without direction — these don’t just accomplish nothing. They drain you of the very energy you can least afford to waste. In the end, all you’ve done is moved yourself emotionally. No real progress. Nothing of substance. Truly absurd.

If you want to make something of yourself in this life, there is one timeless principle: follow the momentum (顺势而为).

Don’t make the mistake of thinking ordinary people have no access to “momentum.” Even someone born into poverty can work to pursue it. Move decisively from a poor town to a prosperous city — that’s following momentum. Commit to mastering a skill in a rising field — that’s following momentum. Put your savings into quality assets — that’s following momentum too.

So what does it really mean to follow momentum? It means letting the great currents of the era carry you toward better ground — instead of stubbornly clinging to a cold, hard road and refusing to adapt.

I don’t say things I’m not certain of. But let me share what I’ve observed from years of close service to truly wealthy and privileged families: 99% of them are not any smarter than you. If you and one of them both started learning a trade like interior renovation from scratch, you might actually pick it up faster.

So why have they done so much better?

Simple. Their grandfathers were already pursuing momentum. Three generations of relentless pursuit — the result is the compounded outcome of countless well-placed bets on the right currents. The effort you’ve made in a single generation, starting from nothing, looks small by comparison. Hardly surprising.

This is why so many people cannot understand why the more successful someone becomes, the more they revere classical learning and hold destiny reading (命理) in deep respect. Because this is the study of momentum.

Every tradition, every tool within Chinese metaphysics (玄学) points toward three things: how to attract good fortune and avoid misfortune; how to step into the right rhythm at the right time; and how to read the road ahead.

Put plainly: it tells you where your momentum is. Where the force that can actually carry you forward exists. Find that momentum once, align with it once — and you’ll save yourself ten years of detours. You’ll reach wealth, fortune, and blessings you once thought impossible, and you’ll do it with surprising ease.

It’s like any difficult problem: once you’ve found the right approach, it becomes straightforward.

It’s late, and a weekend night at that. I hope you’ll take some real time to reflect: where is your momentum? Stop drifting through life in a fog of pointless motion. If you’ve been working hard for years and still see no results, there is always a reason. Don’t you think?

I’ve always spoken directly. Whether it’s how to clear your path to wealth, how to secure your romance fortune (桃花运), or how to lock in the influence of a noble benefactor (贵人) — I’ll say it plainly. And if you have a fatal flaw or blind spot, I’ll be equally honest, without holding anything back.

So if my words occasionally sting, I ask only that you receive them with an open mind. After all — good medicine is bitter, and honest counsel is rarely easy to hear.
