The human eye cannot see beyond a high wall. The human ear cannot hear a voice ten li away. And even the wisest mind — thinking through a thousand possibilities — will miss at least one.

To do anything well, you must learn to draw on the talent of those around you.

The eye has the function of sight — but block it, and it sees nothing. The ear has the function of hearing — but stop it up, and it hears nothing. The mind has the function of thought — but cloud it with desire, and it loses its way.

The mind cannot serve two masters at once. What you see will always have its blind spots. What you think will always have its limits. You must learn to use the strength and wisdom of others.

This is how the eye avoids being covered. This is how the ear avoids being blocked. This is how the heart avoids being clouded by desire.

There are places your strength cannot reach. There are things your ability cannot touch. Knowing what you cannot do — that is what makes you capable of anything.

Knowing others’ strengths, and using those strengths — that is how things get done. That is how you reach new heights.
