Some of you have left messages saying you feel regret about 2024 — that despite fighting hard the entire year, the gains were few, and by year’s end your spirits have sunk low.

You don’t need to carry that weight. A person’s legacy is never built in one or two years — let alone in an environment as clearly frigid as 2024 has been.

The people I interact with daily in my private circles include no shortage of accomplished, formidable individuals. And this year? Every last one of them has been lying low, biding their time — coiled like dragons, crouching like tigers.

The Dao (the Way) and the tides of fortune always outmatch human will. We must move with the heavens and accept what is — that’s simply how it works.

Haven’t you noticed? Even my own articles this year — even Master Chi’s — took on a far gentler, more measured tone.

Not because the edge is gone. But because in times like these, the right move is to draw your Chi inward, conceal your sharpness, and wait for better days to bloom again next year.

You’re no different. You must tame that restless, pent-up fire inside you — let it settle now, so it can surge back with full force when the moment arrives.

As for this year?

If you’ve passed through it steady and calm — no serious illness, no crushing debt, able to make ends meet — that’s already quite something.

But if the weight of career setbacks, a troubled marriage, or mounting debt has become severe, don’t panic. I’ve said this many times: the worst thing you can do in moments like these is go red-eyed and start playing reckless cards, leaving yourself in a far worse position than before.

Listen to me — get a good night’s sleep tonight. Tomorrow, when your mind is clear, sit down calmly and work out a proactive plan for moving forward. Then face it — bravely, steadily, without flinching.

Don’t run from it. No matter how great the problem, the moment you turn and face it with courage, it stops advancing.

You yourself are the wall — blocking both the thing that threatens you and the future you’re hoping for.

That last line — sit with it a while. It might just save your life.
