Three Things That Make a Good Life

Renowned Chinese wisdom teacher sharing timeless insights on wealth, destiny, Feng Shui, BaZi, and the art of living well.

Tonight there’s an important social engagement, and after a few glasses of good wine, my thoughts are wandering a bit.

So let me just chat casually with you all — I’ll speak freely, and you listen as you like.

In this day and age, I believe that if an adult can do three things, they have lived well:

One — support yourself without burdening society. Stand on your own two feet, living independently and with dignity.

Two — be willing, now and then, to offer a smile and a kind gesture to family, friends, colleagues, and even strangers passing by.

Three — accept the reality that you are an ordinary person, yet still be willing to keep learning and reading, to stay disciplined and take care of your body.

That’s it. Even if you haven’t accomplished anything remarkable, in my eyes — Master Chi’s eyes — you are already an exceptional person.

Sincerely: learn to go easy on yourself. Don’t push yourself to achieve some grand result in the short term.

I have observed countless people over the years. Those who chase quick wins — though some succeed here and there — generally don’t end up where they hoped.

But those who honestly accept their own ordinariness, and still quietly walk the right path — they are the ones who ultimately achieve great things.

This is exactly the path I hope you will walk.

It’s getting late. Good night.
