I’m telling you all this because the people who follow me are still young — you still have the ability to change the course of your lives through your own effort.
I also have quite a few friends approaching middle age who come to me for consultations. My advice to them is almost always: “Adjust your mindset and learn to enjoy life.” Because once you reach middle age, it becomes very difficult to make any significant changes. Better to take care of your family, take care of yourself, and keep everyone healthy and at peace — that’s worth more than anything else.
When you’re young, time feels like it moves slowly, almost infinite. You can spend hours daydreaming, bored, and three years feels like a distant horizon, ten years like an entire century.
But life is short. If you don’t put in the effort while you’re young, by the time you’re older, you simply won’t have it in you anymore.
I’m telling you this because you still have a chance.
You have your best years ahead of you, a healthy body, and hope for the future.
You don’t yet carry the weight of supporting aging parents or raising children. In this free and unencumbered season of your youth — do more for yourself. Work a little harder. Be a little more ambitious. Don’t wait until you’re older to live with regret.
