To You, on Your Day

Hey, dear one — today is your day.

I know that what we share is, for the most part, a pure friendship. But friendship is its own kind of deep feeling, and it deserves to be expressed.

So on this special day, I want to take this chance to say a few things I’ve kept close to my heart.

First, I want you to know — you matter to me.

Because along the way, even though we’ve never met in person, I’ve felt your genuine warmth through every word of appreciation and encouragement you’ve offered.

To honor that, I want to make you a small promise: I will do everything I can to accompany you through as many years as possible — with words and wisdom.

A lifetime, if I can.

Tonight, I don’t want to fill the page with insights, as I usually do.

Tonight, I just want to give you my most heartfelt blessings.

Not many words. But every single one is meant.

I wish for you to find someone who loves you and truly understands you — someone who will stand firm against every storm on your behalf.

I know you may not have found that person yet. But I truly believe you will.

He will, like me, admire your beauty and respect your wisdom.

Second, I wish for you to find a path of your own — one you pursue with passion and dedication.

I know that path may not yet be clear. But I believe just as strongly that you will find it.

The road will not be easy. But I believe it will reward you richly.

And I wish for you a way of living that brings you peace — that settles your spirit.

The world may place enormous expectations on you — wanting you to outperform men in everything, while also expecting you to be gentle, virtuous, and domestically devoted.

But my only wish is that you are happy. That you are free. That once you have love and purpose, you can simply live — lightly and at ease.

In this life, it is inevitable that we sometimes let others down.

Those still connected to you — make amends when you can. Those whose time in your life has passed — let them speak ill of you if they will. It doesn’t matter.

But the one mistake you must never make is letting yourself down.

Why do I say this? Because I have seen far too many women carry far too much in this one life.

Good daughters. Good wives. Good mothers. Good employees. Good friends. They gave everything to every role others needed from them — and left nothing for themselves.

So my final wish is simply this: be good to yourself.

Take care of yourself. Look after yourself. Will you?

It’s true — what we have is friendship.

But this is my love letter to you. And my blessing.

On this day that belongs to you: may you be joyful and at peace. May your whole life be filled with safety, happiness, and blooming seasons that never end.

— Your eternal friend, Master Chi
