Since the end of last year, Master Chi has wanted to write an article — a real conversation with parents like you about how to raise children more effectively in today’s world. How to help your child become genuinely excellent, truly exceptional, powerfully strong.
Why? Because Master Chi has read far too much content on this topic, and my immediate impression is always the same: the scope is too narrow. Most of it focuses only on a child’s studying and academic performance.
As you know, I’ve been in recovery lately, so I haven’t been writing long pieces. With the extra time, I’ve been reading more, relaxing, resting, and occasionally visiting friends.
After making several rounds of visits, the business and wealth insights I gathered weren’t what stood out most. The deepest takeaway was simple: we absolutely must drink more clean, plain warm water.
Yes. Just warm water.
Why?
Because warm plain water contains no impurities or additives, it does an excellent job of reducing blood viscosity and supporting healthy metabolism.
People at a higher level than you are more willing to encourage you. Even when they criticize you, you can draw real value from that criticism and become better.
Because all they need to offer is wisdom, and all you need to offer in return is respect and trust — both sides walk away with something.
People at the same level as you are more willing to validate you. Even when they don’t, you can still find common ground, exchange what each of you has, and build something together — a business partnership, a shared endeavor.
If you’re willing to do the real work of studying history, you’ll find that almost all the major figures in politics, military, business, and technology rarely suffered from what we’d call health problems.
Even looking at the entertainment world — actors and artists — you’ll notice that anyone who truly made it big generally had an almost gifted baseline physical constitution. They could endure endless demands and sheer exhaustion.
So I always remind my brothers and sisters: if you want to build something great, you must have the wisdom of a sage and the body of a beast. You need both.
No matter what it is, I always buy the best. Even if that means buying less — I pursue quality, not quantity.
A note here: quality doesn’t mean luxury brands. I rarely pay for brand premiums. I’d much rather spend on genuine quality.
So I would never, out of a desire to save money, buy a pile of things that look cheap but are actually poor quality.
Because with anything — if you simply follow the principle of “good and refined,” you’ll find that not only do you get full use out of everything you own, avoiding waste, but the experience of using these things is genuinely pleasant and comfortable. Life feels remarkably good.
Recently, a once-top male actor went viral again — so much so that even I, who rarely scrolls through short videos, kept seeing news about him. As someone who was hugely famous in the entertainment world, the state he’s in now is genuinely melancholy to witness.
So let me just say a few words — both as my personal perspective, and as my most sincere advice to him and to others like him.
This morning I wrote a short piece, and one line in particular — “Take a moment to think clearly: how much are you really getting out of your job?” — resonated with so many readers.
I said that not to encourage you to quit your job immediately and go start a business — because that’s a genuine one-in-ten shot at survival.
But I do genuinely want you to think clearly: what can your job actually bring you? And beyond work — where should you really be directing your energy?
With the holiday just around the corner and things getting busy, I sat down last night and let my thoughts flow into these brief reflections.
I hope you come away with something of value.
1 — “A harmonious home brings prosperity in all things” — this truly matters
This is especially true for those in business, investing, or building wealth. A peaceful home, free from unnecessary conflict, is the single greatest secret to attracting wealth fortune (财运).
1 - The market is clearly trending toward a cooldown — and this is not a bad thing. Whether what follows is volatility or something else entirely, it gives smart people a wider window to clear their thinking and get their bearings.
2 - In a sense, our investment landscape is finally beginning to mature, step by step. Behind this shift is the investor community itself, gradually becoming more rational and grounded.
Unless you have extraordinary, exceptional talent — do not try to build wealth through short-term speculation.
Because true, lasting wealth, at its core, comes down to this: you own a stake in assets that generate stable, long-term returns.
That stake can take many forms — real estate, stocks, a business, or even a mastery-level skill.
From there, you use that stake to continuously reinforce your foundation. You don’t scatter your wealth. You don’t squander it. You don’t indulge. You accumulate, and accumulate, and accumulate again — without wavering.
