Note: Most people will find this article difficult to follow — the details run deep.
First, my apologies to everyone for going several days without writing. I’ve missed you all.
The reason is a bit absurd: four days ago, I woke up, sneezed, and wrenched my neck in an instant.
And so, for the past several days, my entire head has been completely locked in place — held up proudly, unable to turn left or right, let alone look down. Ha.
We talk about striving all the time — but we should also talk about enjoyment.
After all, striving is meant to raise the quality of your own life. A life of abundance and genuine pleasure is the true destination of all that effort.
When it comes to “enjoying life,” I see five distinct levels. The higher you climb, the richer your joy. A few thoughts, for what they’re worth.
I hope you take something useful from this.
Student Question
Master Chi, I often hear people talk about cultivating your network, leveraging your connections. Some people even think that adding a big-name figure on WeChat counts as expanding their network. What’s your take on this?
Master Chi’s Response
I don’t think you need to deliberately “cultivate” anything.
Here’s an example. When you’re a teenager, a teacher might tell you: you need to pursue growth. So how do you grow? The teacher says: surround yourself with people who are also growing.
Being a Sunday, I’m not in the mood for anything too heavy — so let’s talk about a slightly edgy, somewhat taboo little topic.
I wonder how many people around you — yourself included — have a regular fitness habit.
If you happen to move in circles where fitness is a serious part of the culture, you’ve probably noticed something striking: not only do people in those circles tend to carry themselves with remarkable energy and vitality, but they also rarely struggle to attract the opposite sex.
Student Question
Master, I want to make money through self-media as a side hustle, but I never know what to write about. Do you need a massive following to monetize? What are the key things to watch out for?
Master Chi’s Response
Part One
Most people dream of becoming a top influencer — a massive following, more influence, easier money. What they don’t realize is that platforms are quietly working against those very people. They deliberately fragment the traffic.
The whole point of working hard is to make your own life more comfortable.
Remember — there’s no end to making money, but the good years pass in a flash. So don’t shortchange yourself.
Over the next few days, whether you go out and have fun or just lie back and rest — however you choose to enjoy yourself, that’s exactly what you should be doing.
The one thing to keep in mind: stay safe, and exercise just a little restraint. Don’t overdo anything.
I can say this with full responsibility: the vast majority of mediocre and poor people have no concept of a force that exists in this world called “accumulation.”
And precisely because they don’t understand it, they spend their entire lives chasing fleeting opportunities.
The result? They don’t catch a single one — and they’ve wasted the best years of their life in the process.
A truly smart person, even starting from absolute zero with nothing to their name, will from the very beginning choose a city that suits them — and commit to that city as their primary battleground for the next decade without wavering.
Today’s article — I sincerely hope that if you’re a parent, you’ll read it through to the end.
Not for your sake, but for your child’s.
Yesterday, a reader came to see me consumed with anxiety, specifically to have me read her child’s destiny chart (命盘).
Parents worrying about their children’s future is the most natural thing in the world — every parent wants their child to grow up safe and happy. But this particular mother left a deep impression on me.
When I was just starting out, I had none of the experience I carry today. I hadn’t sought out masters at the heights of their fields, hadn’t yet served the elite households of true wealth and influence. And so, like many, I mistakenly believed that breaking through in life came down to one word: hustle.
But after reading an enormous volume of destiny charts (命盘) at the highest levels, I came to a sobering realization: grinding blindly, fighting stupidly, charging ahead without direction — these don’t just accomplish nothing. They drain you of the very energy you can least afford to waste. In the end, all you’ve done is moved yourself emotionally. No real progress. Nothing of substance. Truly absurd.
Student Question: Hello Master, I’ve been working for about a year since graduating. I’ve read many books about communicating with leadership. I want to get promoted, but in practice I’m not quite sure how to get along with my leader and strike the right balance.
Master Chi’s Response:
How to get along with your leader and advance more quickly is something many working professionals care deeply about.
The most important thing is to first understand: what kind of relationship do you currently have with your leader?
