The National Day holiday is drawing to a close. With that, I’ve been thinking about what kind of article to write as a way to ease back into work.
After much deliberation, the most fitting theme for all of us remains cultivation and adjustment.
I’ve lost count of how many people have come to ask me over this period how to prepare for the years ahead — but certain topics are too pointed to address directly. So it’s better to thoroughly discuss our own growth and self-improvement. That is the truly lasting answer.
Why establish this community? To place a lock on this wisdom.
The content here — though it may look unremarkable at a glance — has the power to bring transformative, pivotal change to your destiny, wealth, marriage, and advancement in life, one piece at a time.
Let me put it this way: so many intelligent, prosperous people are cultivating themselves here. Doesn’t that tell you something? Perhaps you should be here too.
No matter how deeply you are consumed by something, wait a day, a month, a year — and it will fade into tastelessness.
Once you pass through this moment of clarity, you will understand that what truly matters in this life is nothing more than: a fulfilling family, a stable career, a healthy body, a peaceful mind, friends who truly know you, and a life of steady rhythm.
Nothing more. Simple and pure.
Yesterday, a message arrived in my inbox — exceptionally humble in tone, yet riddled with problems that most people wouldn’t notice without looking carefully.
It went something like this: “Master, I’ve been a loyal reader of yours for many years. First, I want to thank you for your tireless writing — it has allowed someone as ordinary as me to encounter so many high-level insights and wisdom. Precisely because I am a completely, thoroughly ordinary person with absolutely nothing remarkable about me, I truly envy the successful people you write about — those who can pursue their goals with undivided focus. Every time I see those men and women achieving things I could never reach in an entire lifetime, and doing so with such effortless grace, I feel both admiration and envy in equal measure. But I know full well that I don’t have their gifts or their opportunities. So I humbly ask for a word of guidance, Master — any advice you might have for someone as ordinary as me. I am deeply, deeply grateful.”
When a person is anxious, the mind falls into chaos — and it is precisely in these moments that the gravest mistakes are made. Therefore, the deeper you find yourself in a valley, the more you must remain calm and composed. Be diligent and frugal; cut out the root of the problem, little by little. Let time do its healing.
A person’s days improve step by step. Every inch you grow, your wealth fortune (财运) advances by an inch. Heaven is fair — it plays no favorites, deceiving neither young nor old. So, rest well. Progress with ease, and that is when your efficiency will be at its highest.
When it comes to life pattern (ge ju), I want to start by sharing a real — and rather pointed — little story.
This story happened three years ago, when I had just launched my own knowledge community. Readers poured in — people eager to elevate their thinking and move up in life.
And then, in the community, I received this question:
“Hello, dear Master, I’m so glad to be among the first members to join. Your teachings have meant so much to me — I only wish I had found you sooner.
There is only one shortcut in life: seek good fortune and avoid misfortune.
Therefore, make sure that everything you do brings you joy, benefit, and growth.
If it does the opposite — cut it off without hesitation. These things are simply not worth any of your time or energy.
Grasp this truth, and you will awaken to what you should be adding to your life — and what you should be subtracting.
The outside world isn’t offering much right now, and opportunities are scarce. So why not stop for a moment?
Start by swapping out the noise of daily errands for reading and lifting weights. Then give yourself a full recharge with proper, unhurried sleep.
When you find a quiet stretch of time, sit with yourself — calmly review the path you’ve walked so far, and map out where you want to go from here.
On a weekend evening, I don’t feel like writing anything too complex — and you’d find it exhausting to read anyway.
So I’ve decided to distill these days of deep reflection into concise, sincere words. Something lighter, easier to sit with.
My only hope is that every sentence gives you something to think deeply about for the days ahead.
1 — Stop believing that mastering one single skill will carry you through life.
Last night’s events — I believe you all witnessed them. And like you, my feelings are complicated, a tangle of emotions I can’t quite sort into words.
But feelings are feelings. Reason must never be abandoned — especially when it comes to matters of national importance.
My readers, on average, are without question the most thoughtful audience anywhere online. So I trust that you have the rationality and wisdom to follow where I’m going with this.
