The past two weeks have been exceptionally busy — mostly because I’ve been in deep conversations with my circle of “old-timer friends” about what the world ahead will look like.
These old-timer friends are mostly longtime companions of Master Chi’s, well-known figures in business and industry who, on my advice over the years, have each built up positions in new-technology assets.
Many of them personally made the leap during 2015–2019, upgrading their industries and entering new energy, power, semiconductors, and artificial intelligence.
Something happened these past two days that’s been weighing on me.
Let me ask you something: have you ever come across a child who seemed perfectly sweet and well-mannered — soft-spoken, obedient, the kind of kid every parent hopes for?
And yet, the moment a parent tries to take away their phone, they transform entirely. An explosion of hysteria. Rage unleashed. And out of that small mouth comes language so foul you’d never expect it from someone so young.
This is actually a complete misconception. That kind of travel — checking into hotels, taking in the scenery, sampling local food — is pure consumption. It has absolutely nothing to do with the phrase “broadening one’s horizons.”
Master Chi believes that truly broadening your horizons means allowing children to genuinely engage with people across different social circles and living environments.
It means developing a deep understanding of how people at different levels of life actually live — their efforts, their goals, the many difficulties they face, and the ways they survive.

From the start of this year until now, Master Chi has spent nearly every day in conversation with major players in AI — engineers, investors, and visionaries across the field.
So much so that I’ve arrived at a complete and firm conviction: a new era is quietly arriving, and along with it, the enormous dividends it carries.
After the Lantern Festival wraps up, by all rights Master Chi ought to write a proper article — something about growth, wealth, and life patterns (格局).
But honestly, just like you, after the holidays I still have a bit of that restless, playful streak in me.
So, given everything that’s been happening in the entertainment world these past couple of days, Master Chi figures — why not just have a casual chat about some of it?
Master Chi has always felt that we modern people have one glaring problem: a serious lack of practical, hands-on ability and the real-world knowledge to handle actual difficulties.
Let’s not even talk about extreme scenarios. Basic skills like treating everyday injuries, purifying water in an emergency, or safely starting a fire — most people simply don’t know how to do any of these things.
Of course, Master Chi also hopes you’ll never need these skills in your lifetime. Because that would mean you’ve spent your whole life in an orderly, safe, and comfortable urban environment.
A short piece, packed with meaning. How much you draw from it is entirely up to you.
1 — The world’s geopolitical landscape will most likely see further turbulence ahead. But for us, this is actually something of a tailwind — it gives us more time to avoid becoming the center of attention, and a relatively calm window to keep building our inner foundations.
2 — Anyone with clear eyes can see that this round is about competing for dominance in AI technology. Right now, we actually hold a remarkably strong position — because beyond algorithms and technical capability, AI’s most fundamental requirement is stable infrastructure and a continuously expanding power supply. That, as it happens, is our absolute advantage.
There’s still one day before the official start of the new work year — but Master Chi doesn’t like to rush. Especially when it comes to certain trends that don’t need to wait a few more days before being shared. In life, getting even a fraction of a head start — even just knowing what’s coming — is a tremendous advantage.
