TITLE: Three Disciplines That Shape Your Destiny
I often share a single guiding concept with those who seek me out for destiny reading (命理): if you want your life to run smoother — and to achieve both wealth and happiness — you only need to remember two sentences. Do more of what helps you grow and accumulate. Avoid and stay far from what drains your vital essence and spirit.
Why?
Because long-term smooth fortune is never built on just one or two decisions in life — just as no one who has achieved real results got there by doing only one thing right. There must be a complete internal logic underlying it all.
From my experience with the many wealthy merchants, power players, celebrities, and officials Master Chi has encountered, every single one of them is a master of seeking the auspicious and avoiding the harmful — of cultivating merit and aligning with fortune.
Those who understand this skill maintain an excellent state over the long term, and their Chi fortune (气运) flows smoothly. Once a person’s fortune runs smoothly, wealth and happiness naturally find their way to you. So how do you truly optimize your own state?
The following qualities, Master Chi hopes you will sincerely cultivate.
Mindful Speech: From a noble mouth flows virtue; through attentive ears, wisdom enters#
The most foolish type of person in this world is the kind who insists on winning every argument with words.
It is precisely because they feel small and insecure inside — desperately seeking others’ validation — that they become enraged over a few words and feel compelled to fight until things are made “clear.”
Making things “clear” means drawing battle lines.
It also exposes their low emotional intelligence and volatile temper. In the end, others simply avoid and exclude them. So though it may only be a matter of opening your mouth, the moment this type of person speaks, they have sealed their fate as a lifelong loser.
The truly skilled, when communicating — even when they disagree — ensure their words are warm and appropriate. Even a “no” will be delivered in a way that feels easy and comfortable to hear.
That is the art of language.
Those at the highest level go beyond wordplay entirely. They become the finest listeners. They speak little, yet somehow make you want to confide in them completely. That is true mastery.
Speaking is output — it is giving. Listening is input — it is receiving.
As my own years and level have grown, now — unless I am writing or conducting a destiny reading — I rarely open my mouth to speak freely or offer unsolicited guidance anymore. I simply don’t have the vital energy for it.
Instead, I prefer sharing tea with those at or above my own level, listening to their insights and understanding. That is what I call genuinely rewarding.
Many of Master Chi’s close acquaintances — chairmen of publicly listed companies, people holding formidable power — are as still as seated Buddhas during their daily work, unless a meeting demands it. They hear everything. They know everything. Yet no one can extract a single trace of reaction or emotion from them.
Then when they act — they act like thunder, overturning mountains.
Deliberate Action: Regardless of the tides, I focus only on cultivating myself#
Master Chi has always said that poor people often lead “richer” and “more eventful” lives than wealthy people. Why?
Because the moment they open their eyes in the morning, seven things are demanding attention. Neighborhood dramas and family matters pile up endlessly. After eating and sleeping, where is the time left for their own cultivation and growth? Driving children to school and back — is there real value or return in that? Two-plus hours shopping and cooking every day — is there real value or return in that?
Spending your days immersed in tangled, messy affairs that yield no benefit whatsoever — that is truly the greatest misfortune in this human world.
Contrary to what many imagine, the vast majority of people worth a hundred million or more — regardless of gender — live extraordinarily simple and focused lives.
99.99% of this group have only four things in their lives: building their enterprise, managing investments, reading, and fitness — cycling through endlessly.
As for everything else: if someone else can handle it, they delegate it. Full stop. It never disrupts their rhythm.
Someone will surely say: what about those with limited means — how can they delegate?
The answer is simple: don’t let yourself get tangled up in so many miscellaneous affairs in the first place. If you can barely feed yourself, why insist on having a pile of children? If you’re already struggling to keep moving, why buy a car and burden yourself with maintaining it? Isn’t that self-sabotage?
Master Chi hopes you will recognize your position and your destiny framework (格局).
Remember: you are not an axe, built for repetitive labor and grinding thankless work. You are a sharp sword, designed specifically to cut through the great problems in life. Staying sharp is paramount — never let trivial nonsense blunt your edge.
Before you have accumulated truly sufficient wealth, Master Chi hopes your life contains only three things: seriously mastering the skill of earning money, relentless reading and physical training, and actively building your network.
Steady Heart: Renounce greed, malice, and recklessness — walk only the righteous path#
I wonder if you’ve noticed: behind most of the tragedies in this world, there is an unsettled, restless heart quietly at work.
The crazed gambler, consumed by greed — willing to sacrifice everything for money.
The faithless man or woman, ruled by desire — even abandoning their family for it.
These people all come to bad ends. But at the root, each one was driven by a restless heart.
I won’t hide it: Master Chi himself, during the low points of his youth, faced the test of inner demons countless times — wanting to chase dangerous quick money and pull off one desperate reversal.
But when I calmed down, I understood: every shortcut in this world is, in some sense, a dead end.
Why?
Because with shortcuts, the moment you succeed once, you will not stop. Wishful thinking will completely shatter your inner defenses, strip away your reason, and drag you under — until the wreck is total and irreversible.
Why go there? Even the heaviest burden will pass someday. Why gamble your entire life as the stake? Win, and you still won’t stop. Lose, and it only gets worse. It isn’t worth it.
So the most remarkable thing a person can do in this lifetime is to resist temptation and dark impulses — to always keep a steady heart and do the right thing, even when it’s hard. To always walk the righteous path, even when it isn’t easy. To always be a person of integrity, even when it costs something.
Because one day, you will absolutely discover that this was actually the easiest and most reliable road of all. And it is also the road most capable of leading to a wide-open horizon.
If you don’t believe me, look at the people worth hundreds of millions and beyond — which one of them didn’t walk a narrow, precarious path to get here? Which one of them wasn’t a pragmatist who put steadiness first?
Summary#
The perceptive reader will have sensed by now: today’s article is itself a destiny reading piece.
Mindful speech — determines how your external relationships and connections unfold. Deliberate action — determines how your self-cultivation develops. Steady heart — determines how you navigate the choices and trade-offs of your life’s direction.
And this is precisely the logic Master Chi follows when conducting destiny readings for clients.
Many people often ask me in the comments: “Master Chi, does your destiny reading only cover a person’s wealth fortune (财运) and their blessings and misfortunes?”
That truly underestimates what I do. My process for reading destiny has always followed an exceptionally clear logic.
I don’t just explain your destiny framework clearly — I also address how much wealth fortune you carry and how to access it, your ideal romantic match and their characteristics, the opportunities and noble benefactors (贵人, Gui Ren) you must pursue in different periods of your life, and the details you need to pay attention to — all laid out one by one.
It is precisely this comprehensiveness that has given me the reputation I hold in Jiangnan today, to the point where many peers come to seek my guidance.
