When it comes to Mid-Autumn Festival greetings, I must be among the very last.
But that’s alright — after all, this won’t be the only Mid-Autumn Festival we share. We have three years, five years, ten years, perhaps even a lifetime of these festivals still ahead of us. [sneaky grin] Sometimes, gazing up at the sky on a night like this, you can glean a deeper truth — what people call the “Way of Heaven.”
Look at that moon up there. It’s just like our lives.
The moment it reaches fullness, it begins to wane. But the moment it touches its lowest point, it begins its return to wholeness.
I remember last year, a reader asked me: “Master, will the days ahead be good?”
My answer was: They will be. Sooner or later.
So before that true goodness arrives, there’s no need to keep banging your head against the wall. Instead, cherish what’s right in front of you — the full moon, the blooming flowers, this beautiful moment.
Tonight, I won’t wish you overflowing wealth or any of the usual things.
What I truly wish for you is good health, a full belly, restful sleep, an easy heart, and the wisdom to let things go. May you move through the rest of this year with ease and quiet contentment.
As for wealth and what lies ahead — don’t worry. It’ll come. [hug] [moon]
