Shanghai is only truly pleasant during these brief stretches of the year — every other time it’s either unbearably muggy or dreary and cold.
This National Day, I’m staying local. I’ll squeeze in visits to a few out-of-the-way spots whenever the chance arises, and take the time to rest my throat and let myself fully recover my energy.
