Everyone must learn the art of health cultivation (养生).
The most concise and effective approach is simple: eat light, sleep more — and make it a habit.
Over time, you’ll find your condition improving day by day — your Chi and blood growing stronger, your blessings flowing more freely.
One particularly bad habit I see in many young adults today: an obsession with supplementing the body at an early age.
The moment they feel slightly off, instead of resting, they shove a pile of supplements and tonics into their bodies.
This commits a cardinal error — a weakened body cannot absorb tonics.
The more nutrition you force in when your body is depleted, the more you burden it. Zero benefit, real harm.
Add coffee, alcohol, and cigarettes on top of that, and your body simply cannot cope.
So what is the best approach to health cultivation?
Exactly what I said: eat light, sleep more. Clean and simple.
1 — Cut back on spice, oil, and sugar as much as possible. I’m not telling you to eat like a monk — just reduce the stimulating elements.
2 — Eat quality protein and seasonal vegetables and fruit. Stop living on the same industrial takeout every single day.
3 — Tea in moderation, coffee in small amounts — but above all, drink plenty of water. Try eight glasses a day for three consecutive days. The results will surprise you.
4 — Once your work is done, after reading, exercise, and necessary social interaction, put down the phone. Stop scrolling for no reason. Go to bed on time.
5 — Aim for just over eight hours of sleep each night. When you lie down, empty your mind. Stop overthinking.
6 — Whenever possible, take a midday nap on weekends. It is extraordinarily restorative to your vital energy.
7 — Never stay up through the night. Haven’t you noticed? After every all-nighter, your luck suffers for the entire week that follows.
Know this well: a healthy body anchors your wealth; a calm mind smooths your fortune.
Your physical and mental health is your greatest foundational asset. Guard it carefully.
This foundation is what powers everything that follows — building your world, forging your career. Never lose sight of what comes first.
Go now. Quiet your mind and sleep. Whatever feels monumental tonight can wait until tomorrow, when you wake up full of vital energy to face it.
Take heart — difficulties always pass. The sun always rises. 🌙
