Finding the essence of things is crucial.
Whether you truly internalize this determines whether you’ll sink to the bottom for life — or whether you’ll keep climbing and rewrite your destiny.
Think about it — why do high-education families produce top students at such a high rate? It’s genuinely not that these children have superior genes or a higher destiny framework than ordinary kids from birth.
It’s purely that the parents help their children find the essence of test-taking early on.
For example, the essence of math and science is to clearly read the information a problem provides and apply the methods you’ve mastered — paying particular attention to avoiding distractor options.
For language, geography, and English, the essence is drilling key knowledge points until they’re second nature, and writing in a structured, formulaic style.
These principles seem simple and obvious, yet you can’t expect ordinary teachers or parents to actually teach them — because both require sustained practice before a child truly masters them.
It’s like knowing good posture matters — everyone understands it, but embodying it in daily life is another thing entirely. Knowing the rules isn’t what counts; building the habits is.
This is where the high-achieving family’s advantage reveals itself — parents draw on their own lived experience to model and instill these “essentials of test-taking,” repeating them tirelessly again and again. The more the child grows, the deeper they absorb these secrets, and the more naturally skilled at problem-solving they become.
On the other side are the kids who seemed bright in childhood but slowly fell behind in middle and high school — their disadvantage was simply having no mentor to patiently guide them through the fog.
These children easily fall into the trap of believing that test-taking success comes from sudden inspiration or raw talent — completely unaware that “the secret is old-fashioned methods; the shortcut is the unglamorous routine.”
Many people who’ve never encountered students from Hengshui, Huanggang, or Maotanchang assume they’re just kids who grind their way through by rote study. In reality, the truly mindless grinders never qualified to enter these schools in the first place — every student there is someone who has deeply mastered the essence of test-taking.
Otherwise, coming from ordinary backgrounds as they do, where would their extraordinary elite university acceptance rates come from?
“Grasping the essence of things” matters just as much in adult life — it may even be the absolute secret to rising up, building wealth, and securing a good life.
For women, this essence means standing before the mirror with the cold precision of a surgeon — first, clearly seeing your own weaknesses and shortcomings.
Am I chasing a superficial appearance at the expense of what truly matters?
Am I placing too much value on small, comfortable pleasures?
Can I build genuinely stronger capabilities in my work and career?
Can I bring a sense of stability and warmth to the people around me?
Have I truly grasped the essence of becoming a better version of myself?
When you’ve turned these questions over and over in your mind, you’ll quickly reach a clear realization: the path you’ve been walking all along — “a refined woman will have a good life” — has been fundamentally wrong from the start.
For women who are truly well-fated, refinement is the result — not the process.
That is the essence. Do you understand?
So every woman who is truly well-fated has clear self-awareness about her life, which leads to a solid career, which in turn gives her the capital to attract a quality partner. Each of these links connects to the next like a chain, each reinforcing the other — and together they crystallize into what we call a “good life.”
Don’t ever believe the nonsense circulating out there — especially the idea that a woman who is too capable or accomplished will never get married. Only someone with completely backward logic would say such a thing.
A businesswoman running her own company, earning a million or more a year, isn’t unable to get married — she simply has the ability and the vision to know she deserves better, so she refuses to settle. Yes, you could accuse her of having standards that exceed her reach, but that is an entirely different matter from being unmarriageable. The moment she decides to, she can marry down in a heartbeat.
A woman who has the courage to open up her wealth fortune (財運) will find activating her romance fortune (桃花運) equally effortless — it comes down purely to whether she wants it or not.
That is the essence. Do you understand?
For men, this essence means gazing out the window with the deliberation of someone charting a corporate or military strategic plan — deeply reflecting on your strengths and your choices.
Does the path I’m currently on have a future worth looking forward to?
What genuine capabilities do I actually lack?
Are the resources and connections I currently have genuinely useful, or hollow?
Do I have the ability to rally people and capital when I raise my voice?
Where can the skills I’ve built earn the greatest recognition?
These soul-searching questions deserve your full attention. Find a quiet place, light a cigarette, let your brow furrow as you think carefully — and gradually you’ll begin to find, within the haze, some opportunities and paths worth trying. They may not be guaranteed paths to victory, but they’re worth the attempt.
Master Chi speaks to you from the heart: the moment we men came into this world, it was determined that we would endure enormous hardship and setbacks, and shoulder — under tremendous pressure — our responsibilities to ourselves, our partners, our children, and our parents. No argument there; it’s the life we’re born into.
So the sooner you wake up and toughen up, the better equipped you’ll be to make it through the eighty-one trials life inevitably puts you through.
That is the essence. Do you understand?
The world is not lacking in opportunities to earn money and build wealth — they simply haven’t been found by you yet.
The opportunities exist, but haven’t been found. Or they’re found, but you can’t get in.
All of it comes back to a lack of the right capabilities and insight. Once you know the problem, the solution is simple: sharpen your skills, calm your mind, and make yourself stronger.
That is the essence. Do you understand?
After all this, what Master Chi most wants to tell you is this: the swamp that traps women is self-delusion and self-admiration; the vortex that drowns men is keeping their head down pulling the cart without ever looking up at the road ahead. If you haven’t grasped these two essentials, it will be very hard to earn the rewards you deserve through hard work alone.
In terms of destiny framework (格局), the true great catastrophe is not what most people assume — sudden shocks like financial loss, betrayal in marriage, or career setbacks. None of those.
It’s slowly drifting away from the essence — pouring enormous energy into things that genuinely don’t matter, manipulated by other people’s hollow “inspirational” content, and getting nothing in return but hollow self-satisfaction.
In terms of destiny framework, this is what Master Chi calls the “ruler-subject dynamic” — and that’s the polite way of putting it. Bluntly: you’ve become someone else’s pawn, turning your own sweat and blood into the foundation of someone else’s success.
As a practitioner, Master Chi doesn’t want to waste words on complicated theories. I simply want to say one thing to you.
Dear brothers and sisters — be the master of your own life, and grasp the essence of rising to the next level. From that point on, you will discover that everything you once thought was beyond your reach is, in fact, right within your grasp.
