Friday Musings: On the Logic of Leveling Up

Today is Friday, and I felt like writing something a little indulgent — not just a heart-to-heart with you, but a small personal reflection for myself.

Why is it that nearly every article I write comes back to the same core idea: “open your eyes and truly see the logic of ascending”?

The reason is simple. As someone who started from zero, just like you, I know all too well that life’s journey is riddled with obstacles and hardships at every turn.

And yet — most of those obstacles, with just a small nudge from someone who’s been there, turn out to be nothing more than little hills you can step right over.

But if no one tells you, and you try to muscle through on your own, any one of those hills can become a whirlpool that traps you for a lifetime.

Look around at the people in their thirties and forties who are still completely adrift. Every single one of them is grinding hard while simultaneously stumbling over the most basic mistakes, over and over again.

At the root of it, their perspective and life pattern (格局) are simply too limited. So every step forward that looks like grit and perseverance is, in essence, just repetitive labor with no real meaning.

They fight their whole lives and see no results, no change, no way out.

This is what it looks like when you get locked in a battle with life itself — trapped in a whirlpool of brute force.

On the other hand, the people who are doing well — same effort, same hustle — achieve completely different results.

Why? Pure luck? Of course not.

The fundamental difference lies in how you face life: do you use brute force, or do you use skillful leverage?

So what is skillful leverage? Let me give you a few examples:

On the very first day you start a career, getting clear on what you actually want and what goals to pursue — that is leverage. When life gets confusing, immediately seeking guidance from a trusted elder or close friend, and returning the favor — that is leverage. When wealth begins to accumulate, quickly finding a sound vehicle to preserve it, then building on that foundation to grow it — that is leverage.

Skillful leverage, in short, means going straight to the heart of things — no matter what, big or small.

But after witnessing all the different strata of society, and living through each stage myself, I came to realize that no form of leverage beats “seeing it with your own eyes.”

The upward arc of a life is stitched together from countless small, scattered lessons — but how many people actually take the time to put them into practice?

That is precisely why I’ve spent so many pages sharing the turnaround stories of people I’ve known personally.

These stories only work when you see them with your own eyes — because only then will you genuinely ask yourself: “Wait… how did they start lower than me, have fewer resources than me, and still end up so much further ahead?”

Only then will you search those stories with a sense of awe, looking for the subtle threads that explain how they outpaced you.

And when you piece it all together, you suddenly realize: my own perspective and life pattern have been far smaller than I thought.

Yes — remember this: the greatest form of leverage in life is perspective and life pattern.

Think of it this way. Standing on the 1st floor looking out, all you see is a cramped view — blocked light, petty street-level squabbles, and the kind of short-sighted thinking that makes you shake your head.

Standing on the 10th floor, the whole surrounding environment comes into view. You can see the movement and rhythm of people’s lives, and you begin to sense the deeper logic behind many things.

Standing on the 100th floor, the entire landscape is yours at a glance. People below look like ants with no secrets left to keep. The economic layout of a region, its development trajectory — all of it becomes clear. Many higher-order insights become self-evident in that single moment.

What does self-evident mean?

It means: no more explaining needed, no more arguing, no more time wasted on uncertainty. You finally understand — if you want to climb higher, there are only a few real paths to take.

This is the ultimate reason I keep pushing you to “open your eyes and truly see the logic of leveling up.”

Because everything I do points toward one outcome: helping you walk a smoother, more fulfilling path through life.

That is my one and only intention. Simple as that.

Alright, that’s enough late-night rambling for now. The weekend is nearly here — I hope you rest well, take care of yourself, and don’t push too hard.

Good night, my readers. My dear friends.
