Student Question: How can I expand my social circle and increase my chances of meeting men?

Hello Master, I’m a divorced single mother who works as a yoga teacher. My days are spent teaching classes and then going home to practice yoga, play piano, and read. My social circle is very narrow — how can I meet quality men?

Master Chi’s Response:

First, you need to clearly define what “quality men” actually means to you.

Then think about where they tend to show up.

For example, say you want to meet men with a higher income — no offense intended; accomplished men your age will generally be reasonably well-off. But income alone isn’t enough.

Some wealthy men are unfaithful. They frequent bars and clubs. If that’s not the kind of person you’re looking for, then those venues are simply the wrong path.

If you’re looking for someone who is financially stable, driven, and genuinely responsible and reliable — then where do men like that actually appear?

You need to think carefully about the places and contexts where that kind of person shows up.

Generally speaking, they tend to cluster around their workplaces, their companies, and the sports and activities popular among the professional middle class — golf, outdoor activities, skiing, and so on.

Some companies hire part-time yoga instructors for employee wellness programs. That’s one avenue worth exploring.

Another option is pursuing shared interests and hobbies — pick something you genuinely enjoy and work your way into those communities.

And then there’s the classic: friends introducing you to friends. The more people you know, the wider your world becomes.
