Master Chi
Renowned Chinese wisdom teacher sharing timeless insights on wealth, destiny, Feng Shui, BaZi, and the art of living well.

Student Question: Hello Master. I’ve paid to join some community groups, but after paying, I don’t know how to actually make use of the community or leave an impression on others. How do I solve this?

Master Chi’s Response: Always remember: take initiative. Only by being proactive will you create stories — only then will you be seen. Beyond that, you must know how to conduct yourself well. Online networking is a skill every person trying to earn money online must master.

1. Learn to Take Initiative

In the group, when the teacher regularly shares valuable content, wait until they finish — then proactively package the messages and add searchable keywords to help others navigate. If you’re good at organizing, back it up to Feishu. If you’re good at mind maps, turn it into a mind map.

The idea is simple: use whatever skills you already have to help the teacher organize their content. Do it enough times and you will be noticed. You’ll carve out an ecological niche within that group — and when the right opportunity comes along, they just might recommend you.

2. Don’t Ask for Permission — Just Do It

Say the teacher sends you three or four packaged chat records and you can see there’s a lot of valuable content inside. You want to organize it into a document. Don’t go asking the teacher whether they need it or not — think about it: what are they supposed to say? Yes or no? It becomes awkward for everyone.

So instead of asking first, seize the initiative. Organize it, then tell them. And here’s the key detail: once you’ve finished, you must let the other person know. That’s how you claim credit for your effort and stay visible.

If you just quietly grind away without making your effort seen, you’re working for nothing. When you encounter a noble benefactor (Gui Ren) or a great mentor, learn to proactively create your own opportunities — only then will a noble benefactor be willing to help you.

3. Social Etiquette

This is fundamentally about being a decent person. Respect each other’s time and effort. Understand that the time of top players is extremely valuable — especially when you’re still a newcomer.

When you connect with a top player, always greet them properly. If they give you genuinely useful advice, always send a red envelope as a gesture of appreciation — minimum 18.8 RMB, no less. The exact amount depends on the person’s level and your own financial means.

Learn to respect their time and energy. A single pointer from a top player could save you from countless pitfalls — the mistakes you avoid are worth far more than any red envelope.

Beyond that, never hold back your gratitude. For anyone who helps you, express it publicly — in your Moments, in your writing, across various knowledge communities. People love those who know how to be grateful, and for you, this becomes a form of leveraged visibility.

When newcomers see that you’re receiving personal guidance from top players, think about it — won’t they start to see you as someone impressive too?
