I often tell my brothers and sisters: don’t overthink this thing called life. Whether you or I, we all have roughly seventy or eighty years on this earth.
Some are fortunate enough to have a little more.
But what never changes is this — the golden years, the ones that truly count, exist only between the ages of 20 and 65.
So the truly beautiful way to live is to make full use of your prime years. Generate real value. Earn the best material returns you can. Build a solid, comfortable foundation for your family and yourself.
In the same way, give your most genuine love — openly and generously — to your partner, your family, your friends, your companions. Let yourself have both a warm and united extended family, and a cozy, close-knit home of your own.
And if you still have energy left over, go see more of the world. Give your time to sunshine, the ocean, nature, good food, joy, and laughter.
Less inner turmoil. Less anxiety. Pour your energy into real, tangible things — creating, achieving, building. That’s the way.
I’ve always loved that line from Vito Corleone: “Life is so beautiful.”
I hope yours is, too. [embrace]
