Tonight I’m in high spirits, and what I’m sharing with you is the real, unfiltered stuff on wealth and success.
Don’t think Master Chi is being too harsh — the sooner you take these to heart, the sooner you’ll start getting ahead.
1. Don’t go throwing your kindness around, burning your precious energy trying to rescue and help everyone around you. Once you’ve been around long enough, you’ll understand: people in pitiable situations almost always have something about them that brought it on. If you genuinely can’t bear to look away, give a small amount of money — something that won’t affect you — and consider that more than enough. Then turn around and go chase your own future. Do not get tangled up in other people’s karma (因果). There’s nothing in it for you.
2. Having one spouse who sees things clearly and has your back is worth more than earning ten million. When two people in a household are both reliable and grounded, opportunities for real wealth will never be in short supply. As the old saying goes: when the family is in harmony, everything prospers. Get the home right, and everything else follows.
3. Understand this: ninety percent of the people in this world are genuinely operating at a low level of competence. They skim the surface on everything, just getting by, perpetually dragged down by laziness and cowardice. So don’t waste a second listening to their complaints or excuses. You focus on doing your own work with care, thoroughness, and real responsibility. Build the habit of reviewing your progress in stages. Within two or three years, you will naturally start to see the ladder appearing in front of you.
4. Heaven is not out to torment you. The real reason you haven’t gotten rich — haven’t found the opportunities — is simply that your current abilities aren’t there yet. Don’t fear it. Just build, patiently. To attract serious wealth, you have to be able to hold up under pressure and disappointment. When you hit difficulties, don’t fold. Ask yourself where you can still improve, what problems you haven’t fully grasped. The more setbacks you accumulate, the more you learn to read situations — and eventually, the ability to receive wealth will be something you’ve actually built.
5. Stop treating your job like it’s the whole point. Start treating it as live-fire training for accumulating resources, connections, and opportunities. In my entire life, Master Chi has never seen more than a handful of people who actually got wealthy through employment — because when you work for someone else’s venture, the most you’ll ever eat is a thin sliver of the cake. Truly sharp people, men and women alike, tend to start building their own small enterprise around their mid-thirties. They start from the most basic thing — making introductions, connecting people — and slowly build a profit channel from scratch, at zero cost.
6. Master Chi is constantly reminding the people around him: stop spending your days complaining about how terrible your environment is or how worthless your industry is. That energy would be far better spent sitting quietly and thinking about the next two or three years — how to accumulate experience, how to find your circle, how to make a move into a new arena where you can actually thrive. No matter how hard it gets, with real determination, two or three years is absolutely enough to map out your career path and go shine somewhere new. Master Chi has helped countless people smooth out their career road and claim their rightful wealth fortune (正财). The problems they faced were far more daunting than yours. So don’t tell me there are no opportunities. Every opportunity in this world is something you have to go out and earn for yourself.
7. Life gives you three chances to change your destiny: choosing the right field to study, choosing the right spouse, and consulting the right noble benefactor (贵人, Gui Ren) at the right moment. Hit even one of these three, and your entire life turns around. Just one.
8. Don’t sit alone with the door closed, racking your brain in isolation trying to think your way out. If you actually had that kind of vision and intuition, you wouldn’t still be lost right now. When you can’t find the answer yourself, go find a noble benefactor who operates at a level far above yours and ask for direction. Look at every successful person you know — not one of them figured it all out alone. They are constantly and humbly seeking counsel from the mentors and benefactors around them, because those people know the specific path upward. A few words from them can be worth ten years of your own struggling. I still remember, two years ago, a reader said something particularly insightful when he came to consult me: “Master, the reason I made the decision to seek your guidance is that I already know there’s no point in wasting more of my time. Rather than agonizing on my own, I’d rather have you lay out my future, my career, my entire path in full — and then I’ll simply follow it.” Now that, that young man had real clarity.
9. After analyzing a reader’s life pattern (格局), Master Chi often adds one more reminder: now that you can see clearly how your life path should unfold, things will naturally get smoother from here. But no matter how much wealth and achievement you accumulate going forward, do not show it off — and especially do not display it on social media. In this world, there are very few people who genuinely wish you well. Honeyed words and hidden jealousy are the norm, not the exception. So as you quietly follow your destiny and accumulate wealth, assets, property, and standing — keep a low profile. Stay quiet. That is the only safe way to live.
10. Finally, remember this: there is no obstacle in life that cannot be overcome. What matters is whether you have the determination to find your own way out — or the wisdom to find a noble benefactor who can show you how to get through it. What traps people, in the end, is almost always themselves.
