Let me share something with you — something small, but genuinely good for the soul.

A few days ago, a reader left a comment saying she’d been unable to find her fighting spirit lately. She’d slacked off for several days and was feeling guilty about it.

As it happens, I’ve also been in a period of rest and recovery. So I wanted to say something to you.

Relaxing, playing, spacing out — none of this is wasting your time.

We come into this life to experience it.

The real waste of time? Striving when you should be striving, but thinking about rest. Resting when you should be resting, but thinking about striving.

That constant push-pull of wanting both at once — that is truly wasting your time. Because in that state, whatever you’re actually doing, you’re undermining it.

And let’s be honest — the whole reason we work hard and pursue growth in the first place is to live a happier life.

So yes, occasionally you do need to wind yourself back up. But ultimately, please accept each of your days as it comes — whether it looks productive or uneventful.
