- This world has never had any such thing as “the truth” — only different perspectives shaped by competing interests. All affairs of the world are affairs of interest. Such is reality.

- Why does your kindness so rarely lead to great achievement? Because evil understands you far better than you have ever bothered to understand evil.

- The vast majority of your enemies in life were slowly nurtured by your own weakness and retreat.

- In this world, only those who support you with real money are the ones who truly believe in you. Those with honey on their lips and daggers in their hearts — the ones secretly hoping to see you stumble — are exactly the ones who will praise you loudly but never deliver.

- Eastern-style soft-heartedness and excessive forbearance only create the opening through which society will endlessly prey on you. Rationality, strength, and knowing how to protect yourself at every turn — these are the true weapons for survival.

- In life, don’t seek bursts of extreme effort — seek instead the steady, enduring heart of continuous self-refinement.

- Never try to stand out among the flock. Leave the flock behind entirely. In the eyes of chickens, the crane — pristine, dignified, brilliant, exceptional — is guilty by birth. So stop entangling yourself. Follow the laws of heaven and each go your own way.

- Transformation is a painful process, so never place your hopes on anyone but yourself. You are your own greatest noble benefactor (Gui Ren). Only you will never betray or abandon yourself — walking with you over one mountain after another, through one hardship after another.

- To be candid: in life, the hardest things to do and the things you should do are most often the very same thing.

- One of the core beliefs I — Master Chi — have held throughout my life is this: never fear difficulty in anything. As long as you dare to take that first step yourself, you have already completed half. The remaining ninety-nine steps are the other half — the half you will inevitably finish.
