The Capacity to Learn — And Reading the Market's Next Move

Master Chi
Renowned Chinese wisdom teacher sharing timeless insights on wealth, destiny, Feng Shui, BaZi, and the art of living well.

Back when I said on March 5th that “the market is going to take another hard hit,” something both amusing and frustrating followed.

The most entertaining part: one reader immediately jumped into the comments with “How could it possibly crash? Do you have any idea how much money is sitting on the sidelines waiting to come in? The data shows xxxx — you clearly have no idea what you’re talking about.”

But this morning I noticed that this same person had not only deleted their original comment, but had left a new one: “Master, how did you make that call back then?”

That’s genuinely admirable. In that moment, I saw in him the essential quality needed to make serious money.

Look — in life, there will always be things we don’t understand or aren’t skilled at. That’s fine. Learn it, master it, and move on.

But some people don’t think this way. In their minds, anyone who offers a different view is a direct enemy to be eliminated immediately.

And these are precisely the people destined to fail completely. The moment they become attached to their own fixed ideas is the moment they stop growing. They will be weeded out.

You’ll notice that the lower the social circle, the more you see people screaming at each other with no one willing to be convinced. The higher you go, the more you encounter the grace of: “I disagree with your interpretation, but I respect your view.”

That’s why Master Chi has never been eager to refute criticism. Every word someone says carries value — even if it only serves as a reminder. After all, what kind of person can’t take criticism?

Especially on the path of continuous refinement, the road is always filled with criticism, accusations, and doubt.

Some people get crushed by it — too weak. Others become hostile toward it — too rigid.

You need to learn to still your mind like calm water — drain the poison from the vicious words, then reflect deeply on whatever genuine value lies within.

Do this, and you will grow enormously and never stray from the right path. Throughout history, those who truly accumulated great wealth all possessed this quality.

If you can’t even manage this much capacity, don’t dream about achieving anything significant. You’ll never carry the bearing of a dragon among men or a phoenix among women.

Remember: you either wield the Dragon-Subduing Eighteen Palms (a legendary martial arts technique requiring absolute mastery) to overpower the field outright, or you master Tai Chi’s deflection — redirecting others’ force for your own use.

Otherwise, put down that inexplicable confidence. You’ll only end up hurting yourself.

Back to the big casino — the market in its current state is going through a small breakdown-and-rebuild cycle. Where there’s a breakdown, there will eventually be a rebound, however modest.

Of course, I’m not advising you to do anything. Your decisions have nothing to do with me — Master Chi is simply sharing personal observations.

But personally, I’ll be looking at a few heavily oversold names to enter with a small portion of capital — take whatever profit there is. Better than nothing.

If you’re suggesting I go heavy right now, all I can say is: I appreciate the thought, but that strategy isn’t for me — though I genuinely hope you make a fortune.

Because for Master Chi, going heavy on anything can’t rest on gut feeling alone. It requires corroborating evidence.

Just like the March 5th warning in my public account — that wasn’t a snap judgment. It came down to one thing: is there anyone willing to step in and buy at this point?

The answer was no — so the market would naturally keep falling. Any other argument is irrelevant. If no one wants to spend money to support it, the logic collapses.

Similarly, in the current state, if it keeps falling, it’ll break the market entirely. There are different levels of market decline: light drops, heavy drops, and a complete breakdown. A complete breakdown means sustained moderate-to-heavy selling every single day — until no fresh capital even wants to sit on the sidelines and watch.

The atmosphere is like walking into Macau and finding certain tables nobody will touch — because a string of big gamblers have been wiped out there in a row.

That’s a dramatic way to put it, of course. At its core, it simply means nobody wants to take on a dangerous situation — they’d rather wait for stability before stepping in.

That’s the nature of big money: it never throws you a lifeline in a crisis — it loves to pull the rug from under you.

So if you see a meaningful resistance rally emerge in the market, be both cautious and optimistic simultaneously.

Cautious means: don’t assume this is the actual bottom where you can bet everything and strut in. Optimistic means: move in and out quickly, follow a few heavily oversold names with small positions.

These are your choices, naturally. Master Chi makes no recommendations.

As for further thoughts on where the market goes from here, those are reserved for the Planet community.

P.S.: Some public account readers have asked why I’ve been mentioning the market less frequently lately. I haven’t — most of my analysis has simply been going into the Planet community instead.

This was out of necessity. Even though everything Master Chi says is reasonable and measured, you should never — never — overestimate the comprehension of certain people.

It’s like telling someone “add salt when cooking,” and some fool dumps an entire 5-pound bag of industrial salt into the pot, then turns around and demands: “Are you trying to screw me over?”

For these folks, all I can say is: I’m incapable of reaching them — and that’s my problem, not theirs. I failed. I’m genuinely not being modest. I hope they find better teachers elsewhere.

And so, the real insights are shared only with the vetted community inside the Planet. That’s simply how it is.
