I once said that by late March this year, a concentrated wave of favorable developments would arrive — but I truly didn’t expect this many significant events at once.
Let me string together a few examples. Those with sharp intuition will taste what’s beneath the surface.
Teacher Wu, after more than three years of wandering, has returned. Hainan has moved boldly to protect and nurture the private economy — the principle being: if arrest and prosecution can be avoided, avoid them. There are now harsh measures targeting those who maliciously damage business reputations and the public image of entrepreneurs.
And there’s one more development you’d certainly miss if you weren’t paying attention: beyond the many leaders of mainstream nations, a dense stream of giants from the business and technology world have all arranged visits to China in close succession. Even ASML — the crown jewel of lithography equipment that has long been out of reach — has, for the first time, made the trip.
Taken together, you can feel it: the gentle rain and soft breeze are slowly arriving. At the very least, the momentum is pointing toward a new round of growth and possibility.
Good. The climate is gradually clearing and warming.
Now, a personal view: what follows will be another major round of economic construction.
That means several mega-cities will grow stronger still, powered by their capital concentration and transportation advantages.
And with the inevitable new wave of prosperity in these mega-cities, enormous incremental opportunities will naturally emerge — hidden within those newly developed districts.
Equally, all of the above will require a similarly vast flood of capital to activate and keep the wheels turning.
Read that last paragraph more than once.
If you still can’t grasp it, you truly need to study harder. Let me spell out the bottom line: travel light on liquid silver and cash reserves — and go heavy on thick, fertile land.
One more thing: those who grind through hard labor cannot match those who back the right bet. The wind that’s coming this round — it’s a big one.
