Three Rules Worth Writing Down — The Woman Who Went from Zero to Everything in Four Years

Let me start with something genuinely interesting that happened last week. While I was in Macau taking care of business, I got “ambushed” by a young woman whose destiny chart I had read four years ago.

The whole thing played out in a pretty entertaining way. Before I left for Macau, she had expressed — repeatedly — her enthusiasm about giving me a proper reception. I made my position equally clear: “Your kind intentions are received. Please, spare the expense.”

I knew her situation well. Four years ago when she came to me, she was caught in the absolute lowest point of her life — a double blow: laid off from her company with no clear future on one side, and on the other, discovering her husband’s affair and watching her marriage end.

So even though the destiny reading I gave her helped her climb out of that valley within four years, given the current economic climate, there was simply no need to accept lavish meals.

What I didn’t expect was this: the moment I stepped out of the airport, she spotted me from a distance, walked straight up, and delivered her terms with crisp, no-nonsense directness: “Master, the car and hotel are already arranged, there’s a red envelope on the seat — I have only one request: once you’ve finished your business, please come to my office for tea. Let me brief you on where I’ve ended up.”

I don’t know if you’ve ever encountered a woman like this in your dealings — someone who uses a tone of calm, confident certainty to move things in exactly the direction she intends.

Well. I had little choice but to accept graciously.

After finishing my own business, I went to her office for tea that evening.

Just four years. I found myself genuinely moved. Four years ago, she was a 33-year-old white-collar worker in an awkward position — no money, no connections, no background. Even coming to me for a destiny reading was a desperate last bet.

She wasn’t flush with cash at the time, but her closest friend had told her: “Master Chi’s readings don’t just trace cause and effect — they help you see clearly how your future should actually unfold.”

Life is sometimes exactly like that. What looks like a dead end, with a small shift in thinking, becomes the opening of something new.

Four years later, at 37, she has built her own territory — entirely on her own, across Hong Kong and Macau — carving out solid ground in insurance, jewelry, and property.

Oh, and for the record: her dominant pattern is the Zi Wei-Tan Lang combination (a BaZi destiny framework marked by relentless ambition and the capacity for rapid breakthrough). Point her in the right direction, and nothing can stop her.

What surprised me most during our tea was this: she had written down, point by point in a notebook, every piece of guidance I had given her four years ago. Each one, carefully and precisely recorded.

Since we’re already on the topic, let me share a few of the core points with you.

Some of the more personal advice, of course, must remain private — those are matters of absolute discretion.

1 - Whether you’re a man or a woman, never use your age — whether you’re in your thirties, forties, or fifties — as a reason to stop investing in yourself.

So many people become increasingly ineffective as they get older precisely because they love using their age as an excuse for giving up. If you spend your days in self-abandonment, eventually even the heavens will lose patience with you.

The truth is, every stage of life carries its own comeback opportunity — its own window for building wealth. The key is knowing how to position yourself correctly at each stage.

How do you figure that out? There are only two paths: either you sit down quietly and think through the right strategy for each chapter of your life — or you find someone who has already walked that road, someone whose level is significantly higher than yours, and let them hand you the answer directly.

2 - When you hit rock bottom, the worst thing you can do is chase everything at once. You must learn to concentrate your energy completely.

Every time I read a destiny chart for someone, I return to the same principle: unless your destiny pattern is truly exceptional, the things you can realistically claim at any given stage are always limited.

So you must place your most critical priorities at the very top — above everything else.

When you’re young, nothing matters more than career development and wealth accumulation. Everything else should yield to those two things.

Because only after your career and finances reach a solid foundation will noble benefactors (Gui Ren) and the right relationships begin to recognize and value you. Other opportunities follow only after.

Reverse that logic, and the odds of a good outcome drop to roughly one percent.

3 - A good bird chooses its tree carefully. Never underestimate how much your environment shapes you.

Many people find themselves more and more crushed by fate as they get older — not because fate is cruel, but because the weight of obligations keeps growing, and they don’t know how to clear any of it.

These people are destined to stay busy without ever building anything meaningful. They spend their days morally hostage to unreliable spouses, relatives, and friends — burning enormous amounts of time on tasks that will never produce any growth or return.

I’ve said this countless times: if you want to move upward, the single most important thing is to be in the right circle.

And what a good circle actually gives you — at its core — is a way of living.

That alone is enough.

On the other side, a circle defined by idle chatter, cynicism, and zero ambition will quietly waste your life. Don’t be fooled by the numbers or the noise. These are people without direction — drinking companions at best.

Spend enough time among them, and you’ll start out indifferent, then gradually grow comfortable, then begin to understand their logic, until one day you realize you share the same patterns of living.

That’s simply how human beings work. Whatever values, ideas, perspectives, and experiences are poured into you — that’s what you slowly become.

Which brings us back to the woman I mentioned today.

Why was she broke and at the bottom at 33, yet by 37 — just four years later — she had fully bounced back and was stepping into a new chapter with her head held high?

It’s simple. She didn’t surrender just because she’d suffered. She didn’t turn into a teary, helpless complainer who grabbed anyone nearby and unloaded her grievances on them in exchange for cheap emotional validation.

Emotional validation is, without question, the most worthless and most meaningless poison in the world. At its core, it’s motivational fluff — pretty-sounding verbal poison that produces no real result whatsoever.

Once she understood this, she quickly identified the other core goal she actually needed: a legitimate career — one that would provide stable income and was worth cultivating long-term.

That part is actually straightforward. For me, it’s among the easiest and most important things I do: help someone identify, through their destiny chart, the direction that truly suits them — including how their wealth fortune flows and how to build it.

Everything else has to step aside for that goal.

Because the moment you reach a day where you’re netting five figures or more a month, you’ll find your entire worldview quietly resets.

It’s not that five figures is some extraordinary number — but you’ll suddenly discover that every petty irritation that used to consume your mental energy simply isn’t worth engaging. Not worth examining at all.

The only reason you examined those things before was because you didn’t have the financial capacity to resolve them.

Once you see it that way, what truly matters in life becomes completely self-evident.

Finally, on the topic of circles — one sentence: a single friend of real standing and substance is worth more than ten thousand drinking companions who are just coasting through life.

That’s precisely why, after the reading, she took my advice and devoted every ounce of her time and energy to cultivating the three most important noble benefactors (Gui Ren) in her life — and why she was able to break open a new path so quickly.

She could do it. There’s no reason you can’t.

After all — before she was laid off, her monthly income was just over 6,000.

Closing:

I know these past years have been hard for you. The broader forces at play have put real pain and difficulty in your path. There’s no getting around that — we didn’t choose to live through this moment in history.

But even in the worst of environments, some people are living well. That’s an uncomfortable thing to hear. It’s also simply true.

So this is precisely the time to quiet your mind and carefully map out your own path forward. Don’t let tactical busyness cover for strategic blindness.

I’ll be honest — this year has seen more gratitude come back to me than any other. So many people have told me that the destiny readings I gave in past years helped them dodge one life-defining risk after another.

So I hope you’ll take your own life planning seriously. It matters far more than most people give it credit for.

I’ll also be straightforward about one thing: Master Chi has never been someone who speaks gently. When it comes to what’s favorable and what’s damaging in your BaZi chart, I don’t hide anything — I don’t report only the good news. Where will your next wealth fortune cycle come from? What direction should your future take? I’ll tell you plainly, even when the words aren’t easy to hear.

In the end, what I hope for is this: three or four years from now, late some night, you find yourself quietly grateful that you made the decision to have your destiny chart read tonight.

By then, because of tonight’s choice, you’ll have gained so much that is good — and steered clear of so much hardship along the way.
